The Chartered Banker Institute (“the Institute”) is the world’s oldest professional body for bankers.
With nearly 150 years of experience in educating bankers and with a network of over 30,000 professional bankers around the globe, the Institute plays a leading role in developing and embedding socially purposeful, responsible and professional banking supporting professional bankers throughout their careers. In this way, we contribute to rebuilding confidence and trust in banks and bankers and restoring pride in the banking profession.
The Institute was one of the first UK organisations to endorse the UN Principles for Responsible Banking, and the first in the World to launch a Certificate in Green and Sustainable Finance. Through initiatives like these, the Institute aims to build a responsible, professional and sustainable banking profession, which is accessible to all.
